I’m Taylor Loyd — but most people know me as TDL.
I’m a 37-year-old former competitive athlete turned strength and performance coach, and I’ve been coaching since I was 19. I’ve coached thousands of people across bodybuilding, CrossFit, boxing, small-group training, and 1:1 coaching. I’ve owned a gym, competed & spent the last decade studying what truly creates long-term, sustainable athleticism.
My coaching philosophy is simple:
no ego, no fluff, no gimmicks — just intelligent training that makes you strong, athletic, mobile, and confident for life.
I started my athletic career in bodybuilding, becoming a nationally qualified figure competitor before moving into CrossFit, where I qualified for Regionals in 2018 and competed on a team. I opened and ran my own gym from 2017–2020, and when COVID forced me to close it, I rebuilt my entire career from the ground up.
In 2024, I made the move from Austin to San Diego — one of the best decisions I’ve ever made — and doubled down on my purpose as a coach.
Today, I focus on intentional program design, movement-quality, hypertrophy, conditioning, and longevity. I blend strength, performance, and smart progression into every training block — because you deserve training that actually works, not just something that looks good on Instagram.
And while coaching is my entire world, I’m still a human outside the gym:
I love a spicy margarita, a cold beer, motorcycles, jumping out of planes, and I’m a very proud dog mom. I train hard, laugh a lot, and believe in keeping fitness fun and sustainable.
Whether you train with me inside my app or work with me 1:1 for a more hands-on approach, you’ll get coaching that has intention behind every detail. You’ll get programming built by someone who has lived this lifestyle for 15+ years.
And you’ll get support from a coach who genuinely cares about helping you feel strong, capable, and proud of yourself.
No BS. No shortcuts. Just real training for real people who want long-term results.
